Amber Brock's Blog | The Return Of A Ford Legend Is Coming In 2019

Since its release date in 1967, our hearts have belonged to the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500.

The Shelby GT500 was based on the 1967 Mustang Fastback and equipped with a 7.0L, V8 engine. Approximately 2,048 were produced back in 1967.

The Mustang Shelby which came about in 1965, has gone through several generations. Its seen many different styles, engines, horsepower, and cosmetic changes.

However, when 1967 rolled around and the Mustang Shelby GT500 was born, it had two body styles, the 2-door fastback and 2-door convertible.

It also had two engines, one for the GT500 built in 1967, which was a 7.0L 428 V8 engine and another for the 1968 Shelby Cobra GT500, which had a 7.0L 428 Cobra Jet V8 engine.

Its successors were that of the 1968 GT500KR and the Ford Shelby GT500KR in 2008 until 2009.

We have not seen the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 name in almost 10 years, but that is about to change.

Sit down, hold onto your hats, and pick up your socks for this Ford legend is making a comeback.

Arriving in 2019, the all-new Mustang Shelby GT500 will be available for purchase . With more than 700 horsepower, this supercharged V8 Mustang Shelby GT500 will be the most powerful street-legal production Ford ever.

Think about this, it will be twice as powerful as the original 1967 Mustang performance model and we can’t help but smile about this awesome news!
